***Family Day

Since the start of school vacation, our family spend more time in our province in Bulacan. We go there every Thursday then back to Paranaque again on Tuesday. So we get to spend the whole weekend there. Yesterday, my hubby asked me and the kids if we wanted to watch the movie "Knowing" staring Nicolas Cage in the theatre house of "The Cabanas" in Malolos, Bulacan. We were so surprised because very seldom that we would watch a movie with him. Usually it's just only me and the kids. So I really considered yesterday our 'Family Day'. We were so excited that as early as 10 am I already reserved our seats for the 5:30 pm screening time. The kids really enjoyed the day especially when we were complete. We just hope that we can watch again with my hubby. It really feels good when we were all together doing something that all of us really enjoy. Till next time!

***Happy 2nd Birthday Coffee!

It's our little darling Shitz Tsu's birthday today, Coffee. A member of our family and considered as our "bunso", Coffee turned 2 years old today. I really wanted to give him a birthday party but my hubby said that it's not practical. I was planning of having a small cake, one big whole pizza and some balloons. But instead, the kids just lighted two blue small candles on top two taisan cupcakes and we just sang the happy birthday song. I think that Coffee appreciates what we did because he was so excited and can't wait to grab some of the cupcakes. I also want to greet my FIL a happy birthday today. He and Coffee share the same birthday. Happy birthday Daddy Nestor!

To join this weekly meme, click here

After my son's graduation ceremony last night, we went to Shakey's Timog to celebrate. We ordered the Shakey's Special Grand Slam and a family size Garlic Ultimate Cheese thin crust. We also ordered a basket of mojos and a basket of chicken. The kids really enjoyed eating there because it's their favorite pizza.

***Grade School Graduation 2009

Yesterday was my son's Graduation Day from grade school. The ceremony started at past 4 in the afternoon. The whole family was there including my Mom. The ceremony was very organized and after the graduates received their certificates and diplomas, they surprised us with a very beautiful presentation. They sang the Lasallian Jubilee song composed by our very own lasallian, Mr. Gary Valenciano. Now, the song will be their official graduation song starting this school year 2009, since this graduating class is the Jubilee Graduating Batch. I have another
high school student for the school year 2010.

***Mega Sale on Friday the 13th

Yesterday Jenine and I went to the Mega Tent in Ortigas where there's a mega sale going on.... it's the CROCS Mega Sale of the year. They're giving out up to 80% off on selected styles. For the Men and Women styles they only gave 50% off but for Kids' styles it's 80% off.

It was my first time to go on a big sale like this so I was so shocked to see that the line going to the entrance of the tent was so long! As early as 3 pm the traffic was already horrible, the security guards of the place already closed the gates because there was no parking available. All the parking slots along St. Paul College, Pasig was already occupied down till the parking slot along Brent International School on both sides of the streets. I arrived at my daughter's school after one hour of being stuck in traffic. Lucky for us when we got there, there's a car vacating a slot just beside our car so we were able to park.

My daughter and I just walked from our parking slot up to the Mega Tent because it was just located beside DECS in Ortigas. When we got there, luck was on our side. A friend and classmate of my daughter approached us when we were lining to get inside and told us that her father was one of the organizers of the said event. She just pulled us out of the line and told us to proceed to the exit door and we were ushered inside by her father. Now I can understand why in cases like this, connections are needed. Thank you very much to Gloria and her father for letting us in without having to fall in line!

Inside it was like "Ukay Ukay".... all the Crocs are scattered in boxes all over the place so you really have to find your own size and style. All the regular sizes are all gone so I didn't have enough choice but to get what is left of the lot. There are tons of boxes with all the styles and sizes all together so it's really hard to find what style and size you want. When we were finished, the cashier has also a very very long line. I lined up for an hour and a half before my turn to pay.

These are the styles we got. The only ones we got. Many bought boxes and boxes of different Crocs as if there's a hoarding of Crocs going on in there! I only got one for each of us. We don't really need two or three pairs each even if they're on a mega sale. I am happy and content with what we got.

*** Photo Hunt: FOUR

I'm always fascinated by the colorful and different design patterns of hot air balloons. Last February when we went to Clark, Pampanga, a festival of Hot Air Balloon Show was held. But unfortunately due to many people and the heavy traffic, we didn't had the chance to watch them. I saw these four beautiful air balloons when we went to Ocean Park Adventure in Hong Kong. When we went Florida, every morning we could see at least 5 to 8 hot air balloons up in the sky. I hope someday, I could ride one.

***40th World Children's Art Exhibit

Last January 23, my son Rafael was asked to join their annual Art Contest at La Salle by his Art Teacher. He was indeed very excited when he told me that he was joining. It was an on the spot drawing contest in which the theme was their school's 50th year.

After a week, the winner were announced. He won for the whole batch of Grade 7. I was so proud that time. I didn't even realizes that my son was artistic. Then yesterday, he gave me a letter from his school. It says there that the Artwork that my son has made has been chosen to be the school's official entry for this year's 40th WORLD CHILDREN'S ART EXHIBIT which will be held on Taiwan, Republic of China.... if we would permit it. Of course we will! It was a great honor that my son's artwork will be known throughout the world!

I was really not expecting these great honor for my son. I am so proud of him! Congratulation's Rafael and keep up the good work! Now he's having second thoughts on what he'll become in the future..... a Cruise Chef or an International Artist. Wow! Now he's really aiming high.

*** Weekend Snapshot # 25- A Movie

This afternoon, my MIL asked us if we can join her to watch Star Cinema's new movie of Sarah Geronimo and John Lloyd Cruz entitled "You Changed My Life". Actually, it's their second movie together, a sequel to their first movie. We didn't get the chance to eat lunch because the first showing is 12:50 pm. So we just brought with us take out Halo-halo and we headed straight to the cinema of "The Cabana" in Malolos Bulacan. It was our first time to watch a movie there and the place is not bad at all. The kids didn't quite enjoy the movie because they rarely watch some Filipino films but overall, the movie is not bad.
