*** Weekend Snapshot #19 - Confirmation and A Tournament

Last Saturday we attended two important events of my kids. The first is the Confirmation Day of my daughter Jenine at her school in St. Paul College Pasig and the second is the first Saturday of my sons Rafael and Ryan's inter school competition on Table Tennis or Pingpong. They are both varsities of their school ,La Salle Greenhills. Both events were on the same time so I told my sons that we'll do our best to join them on ISM after their sister's event. God is good to us that day. The confirmation ended early and we were just in time to watch Rafael play. Ryan were finished already when we arrived but we promised to watch the whole game next Saturday.

Jenine's chosen Godmother, Lenlen. She's my hubby's first cousin.

*** Their First Tournament

Hey, Tita Jenny this is for you. This was the boys' first ever table tennis tournament held at ISM (International School of Manila). We weren't able to watch Ryan's game because we're still at St. Paul attending Jenine's Confirmation day. But Rafael's game is worth watching. Enjoy Tita!

*** Work Mode

Since Monday I've been working online till this day. Last week I wasn't been able to work because Mr.Q is always low and there are many of us coders falling in line. There was a time I waited for 7 hours in line but when it's my turn, I can't work anymore because I have to prepare dinner already. SIGHS! So I gave my slot to the next coder .

Today I didn't go home to Bulacan with my family so I can work tomorrow because I have to make up for my absences last week. And MsE pm me yesterday telling me that she noticed that I didn't showed up for work for the last couple of days. So yesterday is supposed to be my day off but still I reported for work. Kaya work mode talaga ako......

Garages for Rent??

Have you heard of garages being rented? Actually, I haven't heard such a thing until now. I know that there are par parking areas or slots available if you needed extra space for your cars but I didn't know that there are also Garages for rent. Here in our country, every house you'll see have built-in garages and some who has more than one or two cars but limited in space just make used of their front side of the road to park their extra cars. In other countries like in UK, if you need extra space to park your extra vehicles or if you need a garage fot just a limited time, they have garages for rent which I think is very convenient instead of contructing another garage. Or if you are just visiting a place for just let's say a day or two and you want your vehicle protected, then some areas also offer these garages for your convenience and easy access. So no need to worry about your vehicle being towed or carnapped if you parked it just somewhere. Try these garages for rent and it will be worth every penny you'll pay.

Top Five Music

Fireplaces

Every time we visit our house in Baguio City especially during the cold months of December and November, I always wondered if the fireplaces there in the Living Rooms where working. It's not electrical but the real thing which you will light some logs and then you'll now have a burning fireplace. A few years ago I remember going there with my whole family on the month of December. The weather is very cold.....I think it reach 10 degrees and I don't know what we were all thinking that the first we camped outside. At 3 am in the morning we were all up and drinking hot coffee and hot chocolate. I have a feeling that the fireplace in both of the houses there are just for display only and to to be used.

So I was wondering what if we replaced it with an electrical or gas fireplaces so that we can actually use it. There are contemporary and modern fireplaces available in the market today and even on online some online shopping shop. This will be a great makeover for the house and useful for that house because it really gets cold out there every December and onwards. For the gas fires, I think it's appropriate for our house there because it would be risky because we have lots of kids roaming around the house and they might start it or operate it by themselves hat would probably burn the whole house down. I think the best is the electric fire. It's more convenient and safe I think even if there's children around. They won't be able to start it or operate it if they wouldn't know where the switch is located.

*** The Finished Product

At last, my project is finished after a week of construction. Here now is the finished product! ( My Mom's new Kitchen)

This is now her new kitchen

This is the Dirty Kitchen Area..... where my Mom will cook their meals starting today. (This used to be the laundry area)

Seeking Financial Advice

I never thought that some big and successful companies are actually seeking some financial advice from financial experts. We have our own business but it's just a small one and need not to seek such services. And I never thought that these companies needed. But when you're talking about requisition, bankruptcy, insolvency or recapitalization, I guess every company whether their successful or not, big or small, needed to consult for fianncial advise or financial opinion. One company that I heard about is Murray, Divine. They specializes in giving and providing their clients financial valuation and opinions for their financial problems or needs. I really have no idea what this means until I came upon theri website online and browse through it. They offer different services like Business Valuation, Equipment Appraisals, Litigation Support, and Solvency Opinion. Solvency opinion is a independent third-party analysis being offered to lenders and the board of buyers and sellers giving them full opinions with regards to recapitalization. So if you need some financial valuation over $1 billion Murray, Divine is the best choice for every company or business organizations.

***Wordless Wednesday #26

~~ WW: CITY OF HK ~~

I know this is supposed to be a wordless post but I have to explain where this is. This is what you'll see if you go to the highest point in Hongkong and you will view it's magnificent skyscrapers and buildings. I can't wait to go back there again. Nice place with a very nice weather, just like here in our place.

Phone Lookups

Almost everyday when I'm alone at home, someone will call our house or my mobile phone but no one will answer at the other end. When I put down the phone, after an hour , same caller again. This scenario is just making me loose my patience and starting my day wrong. Some callers are very persistent like some are offering something and telling me it's a shame to pass such offer or the promo will run in just a few days or something. It's a good thing that there's Mobile Phone Reverse Lookup. We can know find out the identity of such callers and report them so that they will not bother us anymore in the future.

***No Change

Same as before... it's been weeks now since queue is low. So every shift I have to fall in line (pila in) to be able to work on OHJ. And the management of OHJ is requiring us to submit a new set of requirements such as resumes, signed contract, coder's fact sheet etc. etc. And i just found out from my co-coder that after we submit the said requirements, GE will interview us again. Scary. And our salary is on hold until we submit the requirements. SIGH!

Divorse

Here in our country divorce is not permitted or shall we say it's not applicable especially for us Filipinos with a different culture. As a catholic, we value marriage and it's vows. But in other countries like the United States and other neighboring countries, divorce is very legal and very common to them. They even have an archive for Divorce Court Records. You can find there all the divorce records you need in just a click of your keyboard for low cost. Well, you won't find it here in our country but if you go to other countries like in the US you'll find what you're looking for.

***Unusual

Last Monday night, I was wondering why my son Rafael just lied down on the sofa when he got home from school. Usually, he could not sit just for a minute.... he would go around the house and just look at things that I think has no relevance to his assignments or sometimes he is just so bored that he would go out his way just to pick up a fight with his siblings. But that night was a big difference indeed. I asked Ryan where his kuya was and he said he's in the den just lying doen the sofa. So when I checked at him, I immediately sa that his cheeks are red and he just lay there very still. When I touched his cheeks he was so hot! Well, i guess that made the chage... he's running a fever of 39.3 degrees. Very high. So the following day, he didn't went to school and he came with me to the shop so I can monitor his temperature. He took several paracetamol and yeasterday he felt fine. He went to school already today.

Water Repellents

August is the month were we experience many storms in our country. Actually, starting June, rains are beginning till late September, sometimes even till the middle of December. I guess this is the result of global warming we are experiencing at the moment. When heavy rains occur, the roads are almost invisible for us to see and drive carefully. So when this happens, we tend to switch our emergency or hazard light then turn or our windshield sweeper to the max and then we slow down. But when some vehicles forgot to turn on their emergency lights and then they slowed down, accidents occur especially when you're driving on a freeway of highway because you can't see the vehicles in front of you because of the heavy rains.

Some vehicles with defective sweepers are at high risk of having a road accidents. There are windshield rain repellents that are being sold today that coats the glass and protects it from heavy rains, snow, ice and even dirt from sticking on your windshield. This glass treatment called Aquapel acts as a water repellent. But you can also use this water repellent in your homes like in the shower inclosures, mirrors and glass windows. For homes with hard water residues, this treatment is very much recommended so that your shower doors will have no water marks and it will be easy to clean. This product also lasts for 6 months. It's worth the value isn't it?

Aside form residential and vehicular use, this product can also be used in tall buildings like skycrapers with glass windows. We know that it is very hard to clean the windows of tall buildings and it is very risky for the cleaners. So to save from hiring glass window cleaners, try to find an Aquapel dealer instead and see the difference when you treat your glass windows with rain or water repellent. You'll save big on the maintenance of your glass windows and doors with such glass treatments.

Weekend Snapshot # 19- Another day of Recollection

Preschool Convention Hall

Last Saturday, my husband and I attended a recollection (again) of my daughter at her school. This time, it is for her confirmation day on Sept. 27. We also were joined by my hubby's cousin Lenlen which will be the godmother of Jenine. As usual, the supposed "orientation" as we were told, turned out to be a recollection after all. Our speaker is Father Mario. He is the one celebrating a mass during Sunday that is being broadacsted on TV for those who cannot attend the Holy Mass like the old ones and those who are sick and bedridden. The recollection lasted 4 hours with a Eucharistic celebration.

After that, we ate lunch at Phoa Restaurant in Timog. It is a Vietnamese restaurant that we just ordered their fresh spring rolls, chicken salad and their famous noodle soups. And then we went home to Bulacan after dropping Lenlen to her place again. I'm glad that it's been two consecutive weeks that my hubby joined us in my daughter's recollection. He never attended such activities at any of my kid's school and I'm glad that he did this time.

Cardio Renew

One day when I was working online and have to sit for at least 4 hours straight, I felt dizzy all of a sudden. I thought I was just tired or hungry because of the long hours of having to sit in front of my pc to work online. So I just ignored my dizziness and resumed working. But then I felt my back neck is starting to hurt and then it continued to my right side of my body from my arms down my legs and suddenly it went numb all fo the sudden.

I got scared and called my aunt who is a nurse at our local hospital. When I told her what happened to me she said maybe my cholesterol level is high and I should go to my doctor as soon as possible for a check up. I know for a fact that having high cholesterol can result to clogged arteries and then cadio diseases will start. So I browsed the net for possible treatment of some of the common cadiovascular diseases and how to prevent heart attach. Then I saw this chelation therapy in one site. Chelation is the process by which the toxic and some hardened metals in our arteries can be dissolved to prevent clogged arteries. There are two ways to administer this drug, one is through IV and the other is oral chelation by the form of capsules which will be taken at a given period of time until the arteries are back to normal.

Every year more and more people especially women died of heart attacks and other cadio vascular ailments that are not treated earlier or the patient has no idea that she or he is suffering from such disease. It is not too late for me to seek medical help and medication. I'll try this chelation therapy to make sure that I can still live longer for my family.

***Camera Critters #8 - Baby Hippo

Camera Critters

Isn't this baby hippo a cutie? We saw this very cute hippo in Toronto Zoo in Canada two years ago. The kids were so excited to see for the first time a baby hippo in a zoo like this. Well, I think he knew that we are taking his photo here because he looks straight at my camera! So I figured that this will be the best photo for my Camera Critter this week. Enjoy!

***Photo Hunt - WILD

The first thing that came to my mind when we speak of the word WILD are wild plants, wild crowds or wild animals. But usually I think of wild animals. So for today's Photo Hunt, I thought about wild animals and here's one wild animal that we don't usually see at a regular basis or even in open areas like the park. They can only be seen in zoos like this. These are wild boars. Or what we call in tagalog "baboy damo". Or sometimes called wild pigs with horns. Yup... they are wild alright!

Cholecystitis

Some of the common illnesses here in our country is the inflammation of the gallbladder due to the existence of gallstones in he gallbladder. My mother in law was admitted for gallstones removal a few years ago . I causes great pain and sometimes you'll get fever or vomit in the process. This inflammation of the gallbladder is called Cholecystitis. These gallstones are caused by some of the foods we eat. Usually these stones comes from beans and seedy vegetables or foods that are high in fats. So when these stones are formed, the duct of our gallbladder is blocked and the inflammation begins. Little by little you will already feel the pain in your stomach which sometimes are ignored by most patients without knowing that it's already an inflammation. Know more about these illness and help prevent it from attacking you.

This announcement was paid for by Epocrates.

***Skywatch Friday #19

Once in a while when I'm shooting for some photos of something that interests me, I tried to put some effects or when I'm in the mood for some historical or ancient look, I'll go for sepia. Like what I did in this beautiful view of the sea.... this is taken late in the afternoon with the sun already setting and the sea in it's low tide level. That is why you can see the rocks and coral formation already exposed. I also loved the small boats here which completes this sepia photo and of course a touch of leafy border at the side. I took this photo while gazing out the sea during our wedding anniversary celebration with the kids. Every year we always go to a diving site in Batangas to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the kids enjoys snorkling with the different variety of fishes.
